Are you ready to get into the Halloween spirit with me? Print off the Cat And Mouse colouring page and settle in for an evening (or morning) of being creatively spooky!
The Cat And Mouse Back Story
Years ago I started to design a colouring book. Did I know what i was doing? Absolutely not, did I have a go anyway? Absolutely yes! And whilst the original pages never made the light of day (small blessings), I did keep all of the artwork for future giggles.
And believe me when I say the first drafts are not pretty, but that's how we learn right? We take on a project knowing very little and as we go, we learn (and often fail) ... paving a clearer path for what TO do.
This is one of those colouring pages, I first doodled a version of it way back in 2018 and this week I gave it a fancy makeover with all that I know now.
Doodle Details
It's a page full of details from spooky themed wallpaper to stacks of spell books sheltering a mouse from the watchful cat.
Patience is the key here, with so much going on it helps to tackle the big stuff first. I've deliberately made the colours outside the window darker and the colours inside lighter to give some overall feeling of depth.
I've used Ohuhu alcohol markers to colour this one, purely because it's the largest set of pens I own, so lots of colours to choose from. The paper is 100gsm printer paper which these alcohol markers will still eat their way through so it definitely needs another sheet of paper underneath to protect your desk from the inevitable bleed through.
As always, this little printable is designed for personal use only. Print it, colour it, share it on socials, plaster your living room with it if it makes you happy, but we’ll draw the line at using it for monetising gains.
Have a great doodle day, create something colourful!
Love always,
