Head In The Clouds Colouring Page

My journal theme for June (2023) is Hot Air Balloons, and clearly this theme has weedled its way into my brain as when i sat down to create a new colouring page, I ignored every 'rough sketch' idea I'd previously fleshed out and instead settled on creating something entirely different!

Sometimes our best creativity comes from these moments, for all the best made plans in the world, sometimes you have to go where the wind takes you. Unless you're food shopping, then going 'off list' usually means you've bought way too much, have barely two meals to scrape together and there's an unusually large selection of sweet treats - i like to call 'snackcidents'.

But back on topic, this colouring page is a little fusion of skills. Larger areas are easy and mindful to colour in where as the smaller details of the tulips will need concentration and an eye for detail!

My top tip this week is master the 'horizontal' line colouring for wide spaces. To tackle the blue background I've opted for a chunkier nib (A Koi Colouring Brush pen) and starting at the top of the page, i've filled in colour one line at a time. The mastery is in trying to place the next line so that it barely touches the one above, it's a skill that I'm very much still working on!

As always, this little printable is designed for personal use only. Print it, colour it, share it on socials, plaster your living room with it if it makes you happy, but we’ll draw the line at using it for monetising gains.

Have a great doodle day, create something colourful!

Love always,

Gemma x
